Limora Dashpot oil
for SU and Zenith Stromberg carburettor from 1950
Limora carburettor oil is an unalloyed mineral oil for use in oil-damped Zenith Stromberg and SU constant depression type carburettors. This carburettor design requires a damping of the piston so that the fuel supply is not interrupted when the throttle valve is opened quickly. The piston follows the position of the throttle valve in an exact manner defined by the oil viscosity.
Incorrect types of oil or incorrect oil level will cause the engine to idle improperly and to lean out or die when accelerating.
Limora oil can be used in all vehicles of all makes from the early 1950s, which are equipped with oil-damped constant depression type carburettors. In multi-carburettor systems, all individual carburettors must be filled with the same oil.
